About Guitarpond

Guitarpond was not planned, we just love the guitar!

When you teach yourself, you gain knowledge and skill. When you teach others and inspire them to learn from one another, you still gain knowledge and skill but you also enjoy that great feeling which is common in most random acts of kindness/selflessness, the feeling that you are doing something good in this crazy and self centered world.

It all started in 2008 when three guys with different backgrounds got together, Kobus (music and teaching), George (web development) and Morné (film production).

In the beginning we made video lessons for Youtube, now it's grown into so much more. We aim to create the ultimate online platform, that offers members essential tools needed to become better guitar players.

In a nutshell, our site assists any eager player in the learning process, by having everything in one place. Through this process, become part of a community that inspires one another and share the same passion for playing the guitar!

The guitar pond is that place where everyone who has that same passion for playing the guitar, come together, to teach and be taught.

The site allows you to create a songbook with your favourite songs, build your own course from recommended lessons and monitor your progress through all of this.

Although a large portion of the site is free, we also have an affordable subscription package available, with some extended functionality.
Save all your lessons in one place, measure your progress, make notes, use the metronome, find songs with similar chords, export your lessons as a PDF, share with other members - it's all here.
